Congrats Judge Nancy Gertner
U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Gertner has been selected by the American Bar Association, Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities, to receive the prestigious Thurgood Marshall Award on August 9, 2008 during the ABA's Annual Meeting. Established in 1992, the Marshall Award honors U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall by recognizing similar, long-term contributions by other members of the legal profession to the advancement of civil rights, civil liberties, and human rights in the United States. Other recipients have included Stephen Bright; Hon. Ruth Bader Ginsburg; Jack Greenberg; Hon. William Wayne Justice; Julius Chambers; Hon. Abner Mikva; Hon. Damon Keith; and Hon. Frank Johnson. |
