BBA Law Day Speaker Moves to Harvard
Harvard Law School announced earlier this week that Cass R. Sunstein, keynote speaker for the BBA's Law Day Dinner, has accepted the school's offer to join its faculty this fall. "Cass Sunstein is the preeminent legal scholar of our time — the most wide-ranging, the most prolific, the most cited, and the most influential," said Elena Kagan, dean of Harvard Law School. "If I could add only one person to the faculty, Cass would be that person, and I am thrilled beyond measure to announce his appointment." In addition to his teaching duties, Sunstein will become the director of the new Program on Risk Regulation which will explore how law and policy can better deal with the unanticipated problems of the 21st century such as terrorism and natural disasters. A graduate of both Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Sunstein is currently the Karl N. Llewellyn Distinguished Service Professor of Jurisprudence, a joint appointment of the law school and Political Science Department at the University of Chicago. The BBA's 2008 Law Day Dinner will be held on May 22 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel and is chaired by Kitt Sawitsky, Co-Managing Director of Goulston & Storrs - A Professional Corporation*.
