BBA Applauds Supreme Court Ruling in Boumediene Having made the point on many occasions that in our system of Anglo-Saxon law we do not jail people indefinitely without showing why, the BBA today was delighted to learn of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Boumediene et al v. Bush, President of the United States, et al., a case involving Guantanamo detainees. As Justice Kennedy noted, “The laws and Constitution are designed to survive, and remain in force, in extraordinary times.” |
