Expert from Argentina to speak at Cross -Border Secured Transactions

Cross-Border Secured Transactions: What happens when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong?

Monday, September 24, 2007
4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Ramiro Barbosa, an expert in cross border issues, will speak as part of the panel at the Cross-Border Secured Transactions CLE on September 24, 2007.  Mr. Barbosa, currently a partner at Cárdenas, Di Ció, Romero, Tarsitano & Lucero, previously worked for BankBoston, where he was Assistant General Counsel with the Latin American Practice Group.

The program, sponsored by the Business, Bankruptcy and International Law Sections, will explore the ins and outs of international commercial lending transactions involving multi-national businesses. These types of transactions often have very unique credit, currency and liquidity risks, and are becoming more common as U.S. Companies continue to expand their markets. After this seminar, attendees will know how to address the legal issues involved in structuring, negotiating and documenting cross-border financing transactions.  Expert panelists will also show how these risks can be mitigated through the use of tested loan structures and loan document provisions and the development of close relationships with local international counsel.
