Doniger Praises Appointment of New Chief Justice of Probate & Family Court

BOSTON – Earlier this week, Boston Bar Association President Tony Doniger issued the following statement regarding Chief Justice for Administration and Management’s appointment of Judge Paula M. Carey as Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court:

“Since going on the bench in 2001, Judge Carey has distinguished herself by her unwavering commitment to fairness, her formidable intelligence, her integrity, and her commitment to working really hard.  She’s an excellent judge to continue implementing the many management reforms that have come in the wake of the Monan Commission.  She will make a formidable Chief Justice of a court that affects the lives of so many families and children in Massachusetts.  Chief Justice Mulligan has made a superb choice, one who will serve the people of the Commonwealth and the Probate and Family Court system with great skill."

At the time of her appointment to the Bench in 2001, she was Vice Chair of the BBA Family Law Section.
