International Environmental Law Committee to discuss Material Content Regulations

Stuart D. Sleeman, President of Sleeman Hanley & DiNitto, and other business associates from companies affected by current legal trends, will provide an overview on the ongoing developments of the European Union Directives and Asian Material Content Regulations:

  1. End of Life Vehicle (ELV)
  2. Waste Electronic and Electric Equipment (WEEE) and
  3. Restrictions on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS)

These regulations are imposing content restrictions/bans on certain materials globally as well as creating recycling obligations for most multinationals.  Mr. Sleeman will present an overview of the impact of these regulations in terms of current litigation (both pending and resolved); and why US Companies are failing to correct deficiencies.

The International Environmental Law Committee is Co-chaired by Stuart Canton and Francis Veale.
