District Attorney Gerry Leone to Speak at "Representing College & Graduate Students"

Representing College & Graduate Students: Disciplinary Proceedings and the Courts

Wednesday, October 24, 2007
4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

District Attorney Gerry Leone

Each year, several of the many thousand students who enroll in our local educational institutions find themselves in trouble.  When students are charged with criminal offenses from alcohol and drug use to copyright violations and computer crimes, the stakes are usually very high. At risk are college careers and diplomas, and threat of other court proceedings.  We have assembled a panel of legal experts to address some of the many issues that arise in these settings.

District Attorney Gerry Leone will speak as part of the expert panel, along with Douglass Brooks of Kelly Libby & Hoopes, David Losier of Burns & Levinson LLP*, David Deakin of the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Lisa Sinclair of Northeastern University, and Chief of Police Francis "Bud" Reilly of Harvard University Police Department.  The panel will be moderated by Kimberly Budd of the Harvard Business School, and Mark Smith of Laredo & Smith, LLP.
