BBA Sponsor Firms Bolster Environmental Efforts Nixon Peabody LLP* has appointed Carolyn S. Kaplan, an attorney in the firm's energy and environmental practice, as chief sustainability officer. The firm claims to be the first in the legal industry to create an official position for sustainability. According to a recent item in the ABA Journal, Goodwin Procter LLP* also has a sustainability program which promotes "green" office behavior like printing on both sides of paper and shutting down computers after work. Rachael Wexler, the attorney who initiated the firm's now-nationwide program, reports that the program has helped recruitment as well as the environment. *BBA Sponsor Firms |
