"Would you rather re-take the bar exam or run the Boston Marathon, and why?"

Leiha Macauley – Day Pitney LLP
"Without any hesitation, I would much rather run the Boston Marathon (for the 8th time) than retake the bar exam. While the Marathon and the bar exam are both challenging life events, and both require the same number of weeks committed to training to arrive at the starting line with confidence, the events' final 'test' couldn't be more different. I would take the spectator-lined streets from Hopkinton to Boston, the excitement shared with fellow runners and the thrill of crossing the finish line ANY DAY over the cold, dark bar exam venue, the anxiety shared by fellow exam-takers and the exhaustion (and wait) that follow the end of the exam."

Aaron J. Agulnek – Legal Counsel to MA State Senator Marian Walsh
"I would rather run the Boston Marathon over re-taking the bar exam for three main reasons: (1) It is good for your health, rather than detrimental; (2) if you don’t win you won't need to reconsider your career choices; and finally, (3) the night before the big day you don't need to remember whether a fee simple subject to a condition subsequent creates a possibility of reverter or a right of entry, but rather you only need to remember to charge your mp3 player battery and to eat pasta."

Lisa C. Goodheart – Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak & Cohen, P.C.
"Sadly, at this point in my life I’m not sure that I could be parted from my Blackberry for long enough to do either without requiring medical attention."

Randall E. Ravitz – Office of Attorney General Martha Coakley
"Whichever one gives out those cool silver blanket things at the end."
