" If you could have one famous piece of art in your living room, which one would it be and why?"

Timothy E. Maguire – Greenberg Traurig, LLP
"Rembrandt's The Storm on the Sea of Galilee, stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in 1990 and yet to be recovered.  A famous painting, by a famous painter, that now has an infamous history.  Of course, there is also the $5 million dollar reward that would accompany its return."

Gail E. Magenau Hire – Mackie Shea O'Brien, PC
"I'd love to have John Singer Sargent’s El Jaleo (the Flamenco dance scene) in my living room. It’s very festive and there’s a lot going on in the painting - it would make great cocktail party conversation!"

Timothy Blank – Dechert LLP
"I really couldn't choose just one famous piece of art for the middle of my living room, so I’ll choose three, but all three are sculptures, so it really should count as one.  First, I would choose Rodin’s The Kiss, because whenever we have people over to our house, we can’t get them out of the kitchen.  If we had The Kiss in our living room, anybody with a feel for true passion would be there, and I would feel sorry for those who stayed in the kitchen.  Second, I would love to have Venus de Milo in my living room.  As Judge Keeton so eloquently explains in Acton v. Hoffman Corp, this sculpture begs admirers to 'heed the inner voice,' which would certainly lead to some interesting discussions during the dinner party and cause some guests to bare their souls, which is always fun.  And third, I would love to have Michelangelo’s David in my living room.  Why?  The simple reason is that every once in awhile, I need a little inspiration to head to the gym, and if you don’t get that from David, well, I don’t know what to say. That guy is the man. I mean, laying the beatdown on Goliath is pretty inspirational stuff."
