Tax Assistance Volunteers Wanted

The BBA New Lawyers Section is seeking volunteers for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Volunteers prepare state and federal income tax returns for low-income taxpayers at community sites in Boston. Each volunteer is asked to contribute approximately 12 hours of his or her time during tax season.  All volunteers must complete an IRS on-line training and certification. An information/training session is scheduled for Saturday, January 17th, 2009, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Suffolk University, 8 Ashburton Place, 5th floor computer lab.  To participate, please contact BBA Department of Community Affairs at probono@bostonbar.org.
