Green Office Tip of the Week

You and your computer contribute to climate change.  If you leave your desktop computer on all day for one year, you add 1,500 pounds of CO2 to the atmosphere (source: Harvard Office for Sustainability).  Here are two changes you can make today:

1)  Use your laptop, since it uses a fraction of the energy consumed by your desktop (source: ABA Journal, Oct. 2008);
2)  Turn off your computer and unplug your laptop, as computers in “sleep” mode and closed laptops are still drawing power.

The Green Office Program promotes 10 simple steps to reduce the waste of paper and energy in law office operations and to increase recycling and other environmentally more sustainable law office practices.
