Members of the BBA Public Interest Leadership Program have already begun to demonstrate their leadership skills. Anita Sharma, attorney at the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project and Laurie Carafone, an associate at Dwyer & Collora* assembled a group of more than 30 attorneys at the BBA for an Immigration and Detention Issues Reception. The event helped attorneys learn about training opportunities that will prepare them to provide pro bono representation to pro se parties facing immigration and detention-related issues. The group plans to sponsor similar programs in other pro bono subject areas.
