Law Day Dinner Honorees. . . the Envelope Please Being presented at the BBA’s Law Day Dinner on the evening of June 1. . . President’s Award Never try to upstage anybody who has participated in the BBA Public Interest Leadership Program. BBA President Kathy Weinman will be asking every one of them -- starting with alums from the inaugural class of 2004 up to and including the current class -- to come forward to receive the BBA President's Award in recognition of their contributions as lawyer citizen leaders. Citations of Judicial Excellence U.S. Magistrate Judge Leo Sorokin will be honored for his leadership in the Court Assisted Recovery Effort (C.A.R.E.), an alternative rehabilitation program for individuals under federal supervision who have addiction problems.
Appeals Court Judge Fernande R.V. Duffly will be honored for her leadership in promoting women in the profession during her presidency of the National Association of Women Judges.
