Skadden, Arps Recognized for Stellar Appellate Advocacy
For the second year in a row, the National Law Journal named Skadden, Arps to its annual "Appellate Hot List" for Skadden's "stellar appellate advocacy." NLJ singled out for mention Skadden’s recent pro bono First Circuit victory in Hannon v. Beard, in which the court ruled in a case of first impression that prison officials who allegedly wrongfully transferred a prisoner from their own state's prison system to a new state's prison system could be sued in the new state. Matt Matule (who argued the appeal), Chris Clark, and David Clancy, all from Skadden’s Boston office, worked on the matter.
