Ropes & Gray Associate Wins Pro Bono Award
Ropes & Gray has announced that the firm’s Deb Levi Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service was awarded to Boston-based associate Jennifer A. Rikoski, a member of the Tax & Benefits department. Jenny was recognized as an expert in Iraqi refugee asylum issues. In 2008, Ropes & Gray represented 15 Iraqi asylum seekers and refugees with Jenny handling some of the matters directly and providing guidance on the others. She also used her vacation time to go to Syria to learn more about the plight of Iraqi refugees and co-authored a well-received Washington Post op-ed piece on what she discovered. Additionally, Jenny has trained law students and young lawyers across the country on how to represent this underserved population. "In short," said Ana Francisco, chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, "what Jenny has done is amazing." |
