BBA Summer Jobs News Conference, June 29 The Boston Bar Association will hold a news conference on Monday, June 29 at 8 a.m. at the BBA’s 16 Beacon Street, Boston headquarters to induct 25 students from Boston’s public high schools into the BBA Summer Jobs Program. Speakers will include Mayor Thomas M. Menino, two alums of the program – Massiel De los Santos, an incoming freshman, and Viola Adhami, a sophomore – both of whom are now students at Smith College. Also speaking will be BBA President Kathy B. Weinman, and George P. Field, Partner-in-Charge, Boston office of Verrill Dana. The BBA Summer Jobs Program places students at paid summer internships at law firms and law offices in Boston. Now in its 16th year, the program is conducted in partnership with the Boston Public Schools and the Boston Private Industry Council. The goal of the program is to help inner city teens learn about the legal profession and believe that law school is an attainable and attractive goal. |
