BBA Headquarters Renovation/Expansion Complete
The third annual BBF Justice is Sweet Fundraiser marked the BBA’s celebration of its grand re-opening following a $1,350,000 building project providing an additional 2,300 square feet, integrating a second floor condominium at 18/20 Beacon Street, next door to its 16 Beacon Streeet headquarters. The centerpiece of the project is a new conference space overlooking the Massachusetts State House. With fireplaces at both ends, the space flows into a reception area with a vaulted ceiling and will accommodate receptions of up to 150 people or theater style seating for 60 people. The number of meetings held this year compared to last increased 15%. Despite the economic slump, the BBA saw 1,000 more attendees at section events and CLE programs from September through December than during the same period last year. Unable to meet the demand for space, the BBA had to host more events off site, including the debut meeting of the BBA’s new Diversity & Inclusion Section, and the Annual Superior Court Bench/Bar CLE. |
