BBA Past President Joan Lukey's Historic Achievement
Joan Lukey, a BBA Past President and a partner in Ropes & Gray's* Litigation Department, recently became President-Elect of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). Joan is both the first woman who will become President of the ACTL, and the first woman elected to a national office in the organization. The National Law Journal named Joan one of "America’s Top 50 Women Litigators," while Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly designated her as one of the "35 influential judges and lawyers in Massachusetts of the past 35 years." She has been recognized as a top trial lawyer by Chambers USA and the Best Lawyers in America. At Ropes & Gray's Boston office, Joan's trial practice focuses on complex business litigation.
