New Family Law Group at Looney & Grossman
Boston law firm Looney & Grossman LLP* has established a Family Law / Domestic Relations Practice Group. For more than 40 years, Looney & Grossman has enjoyed a stellar reputation in the areas of Business, Litigation, Bankruptcy and Transportation. On launching the new group, Stewart F. Grossman, Esq., said, “This new practice group is a response to the needs of many of our business clients and colleagues at other firms, and makes us a more well-rounded, multi-faceted firm.” Heading the Family Law Practice Group is Patricia Saint James, who said, “To meet the needs of a changing society, we offer a practical, responsive and dedicated approach to the resolution of divorce proceedings, custody disputes, paternity actions, modification proceedings, removal cases and issues arising from pre-nuptial agreements, same-sex marriages and partnerships. In all aspects of our domestic relations practice we partner with our clients to define and achieve their attainable goals in an efficient and result-oriented manner.” Other areas of expertise include valuation of assets, tax analysis, jurisdictional issues, and drafting of divorce and pre-nuptial agreements. A past chair of the Family Law Section of the Boston Bar Association, Saint James has worked extensively with the Massachusetts Legislature, the Courts and the Department of Revenue to shape legislation, train other lawyers and enhance the practice of family law in the Commonwealth. In July, a new law regarding jurisdiction went into effect, a direct result of a Saint James’ victory on behalf of a client in the Mass. Appeals Court. Saint James is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, where she was an Arthur Littleton Scholar. She received her undergraduate degree from Central Connecticut State University (B.S., magna cum laude) and her master’s degree from the University of Connecticut (M.A., summa cum laude) and was designated as a State of Connecticut Scholar. She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1985. Among other communal activities, she is on the Board of Trustees of the Arts and Business Council, where she serves as the Vice Chair. She has been designated a ‘Super Lawyer’ by Boston Magazine. Joining Saint James on Looney & Grossman’s Family Law team is Alexander D. Jones. Jones is currently on the BBA Family Law Council and is the President of the Massachusetts’ Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), an international interdisciplinary organization of lawyers, judges and mental health professionals dedicated to improving the court process for children. Jones is an honors graduate of Binghamton University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated with dual degrees from Boston College Law School and Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. He was selected as a ‘Rising Star’ in the legal profession by Boston Magazine in 2005, 2006 and 2007. This honor is bestowed on only five percent of the legal profession in Massachusetts. Jeffrey L. Manganaro, the newest member of the team, is a graduate of Bowdoin College (B.A., 2003) and New England School of Law (J.D., 2007). |
