Current Issues in Privacy & Security Law for the Health Care and Financial Services Sectors

Friday, October 24, 2008
9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The last few years have witnessed a dramatic increase in consumer concern about, and regulatory oversight of, how companies use and manage personal information. This has been particularly true for health care and financial services providers, which manage vast amounts of sensitive personal information.

This seminar will focus on the current legal and regulatory challenges for financial services and healthcare providers that hold consumer personal information, and how those companies are adjusting their business processes, and their businesses, as a result.

A panel of legal experts will discuss recent legal and regulatory developments concerning the treatment of health and financial services data, including increased focus on information security, fraud prevention, and incident detection, notification and auditing. And a panel of privacy and information security professionals will discuss how regulated entities are modifying their businesses and business practices to accommodate the evolving regulatory environment.
