Notice of Proposed Reappointment of The Federal Public Defender for The United States District Court for the Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island

The current term of office of Miriam Conrad, Federal Public Defender for the Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, is due to expire on October 30, 2009. The United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit is considering the reappointment of Miriam Conrad to a new four-year term of office subject to public notice and opportunity for public comment.  Upon reappointment, the incumbent would continue to perform the duties of her office as specified in The Criminal Justice Act of 1964, as amended, 18 U.S.C. § 3006A.

Members of the bar and the public are invited to submit comments for consideration by the Court of Appeals regarding the reappointment of Federal Public Defender Miriam Conrad to a new term of office.  All comments will be kept confidential and should be directed to Susan J. Goldberg, Deputy Circuit Executive, United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, Office of the Circuit Executive, John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Way, Suite 3700, Boston, Massachusetts 02210.  Comments must be received by December 12, 2008.
