Pro Bono Training for Boston Housing Court

The Real Estate Pro Bono Committee will be conducting a volunteer training on November 17th, 2008 from 4:00pm- 6:00pm.    The speakers will include Hon. Jeffrey M. Winik, First Justice, Boston Housing Court, Robert B. Burdick, Director of the Civil Law Clinical Program at Boston University School of Law, and Maria Theophilis, attorney at Broderick, Bancroft & Goldberg.

Program Details

• Program participants volunteer to provide limited consult and advice to low income pro se landlords and tenants who are appearing at Boston Housing Court for summary process (eviction) day. 
  
  
• Participants volunteer on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  
• The BBA Department of Community Affairs and the Real Estate Section Pro Bono Committee work with judges and staff of Boston Housing Court as well as staff from the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association, Greater Boston Legal Services, and the WilmerHale Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School to provide oversight and program support.
