"Would you rather be able to hear any conversation or permanently take back anything you say?"
 |
Erica Tennyson – Day Pitney
"I would much rather be able to permanently take back anything I say. Do I also get to try again? It would be particularly useful to get do-overs in court, although I can see the benefit in all aspects of life. It might take longer to get through a conversation, but I could eliminate all misunderstandings and petty bickering. Besides, there are some conversations we are better off not overhearing."

Ronaldo Rauseo-Ricupero – Nixon Peabody
"I would definitely prefer to hear any conversation – I’d have a much easier time winning cases and negotiations for my clients, helping them grasp hidden opportunities and avoid hidden pitfalls. Once the work was done, I’d listen in on the Supreme Court’s conferences at One First; hear what Terry Francona is telling Tim Wakefield on the mound; eavesdrop as J.M. Coetzee exchanges with his editors and as Regina Carter picks her set list. I’d then probably spend the rest of my time learning more languages so I could catch all the other conversations I’d be able to hear but not understand."

Michelle Rothman – Travers | Dombroski
"I would rather hear any conversation (as long as it is an unlimited power) since conversations are one of the few things I can’t get by Googling. Plus, if I already know everything people are saying, I can avoid saying anything I would ever want to take back. That’s a win-win!"
