State House – Grand Staircase
We Need Your Help
Adequate funding of our state courts is a top priority of the BBA. The private bar has an important role to play in informing the legislature that adequate funding of our state courts is important to our system of justice. Over the last three years, we have issued reports (FYs 2010, 2011 and 2012) chronicling the negative impacts cuts to the judiciary’s budget have had on the administration of justice and our community. Our work is not done.
Please join us – and enlist your colleagues and others to join us – in showing our support at an event co-sponsored by the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
The purpose of the event is to urge our legislators to support the judiciary's budget request of $593.9M, which would allow for the restoration of essential services. After Chief Justice Roderick L. Ireland and Chief Justice Robert A. Mulligan address the group, participants will be encouraged to follow up with their own legislators to ask them to provide adequate funding for the judiciary. If you cannot attend, please contact your state representative and senator with this message.
