Click here to RSVP for this meeting Time & Place Monday, October 6, 2008 12:00 p.m. Boston Bar Association 16 Beacon Street Peter J. Caruso II, Prince, Lobel, Glovsky & Tye, will review orphan work legislation. The U.S. House and Senate have introduced bills addressing the growing issue surrounding Orphan Works in the Copyright Context. The program will briefly address the history of the Orphan Works problem and legislation, analyze both Senate and House bills, and provide discussion points concerning potential solutions. A part of the Intellectual Property Law Section, the Arts, Entertainment & Sports Law Committee addresses issues faced by lawyers who represent clients in the arts, in entertainment and in associated industries, including visual artists, writers, publishers, film and TV producers, songwriters, music producers and publishers, performing artists, and those involved in other creative pursuits. Its monthly meetings usually feature a guest speaker. |
