Peter Brooks of Seyfarth Shaw LLP will discuss Porcaro v. Town of Hopkinton, a land use civil rights case in which a jury awarded a developer over $1.5 million in damages for improperly withholding building permits for a subdivision.

After the Closing on an Affordable Housing Project: Preparing for a Lender’s Compliance Audit  

Elaine Nickerson of OKM Associates, Inc., who conducts compliance monitoring visits for DHCD’s HSF and HOME programs and CEDAC’s HIF and FCF programs, will describe what to expect in a compliance monitoring visit, what documentation borrowers need to have available, and the process for correcting any problems identified in the monitoring visit.  Karen Kelley, the Director of Finance and Operations at CEDAC, will discuss what borrowers can do to streamline the process, as well as common issues and problems that arise

The reception is a wonderful and festive event designed to encourage all lawyers to participate in one of the many pro bono projects that are organized by the different sections of the Boston Bar Association.  

In addition to live jazz, food, and fun, the evening involves brief presentations on existing pro bono projects by lawyers that have participated in them, and an opportunity to learn more about a particular project during the post-presentation reception.  We look forward to seeing you on December 8th!
