How do I post on the listserv?

  • Once you are approved, to post on the listserv send your email to bba-ssf@groups.electricembers.net. When you send an email to bba-ssf@groups.electricembers.net. it will go to all the subscribers. Please note that you must be subscribed to the listserv to in order to post.
  • Emails do not require BBA staff authorization, but please be mindful of respecting the user guidelines. Failure to adhere to these guidelines is grounds for listserv suspension or termination.
  • If you are unsure if your post meets our guidelines please email the listserv-admins bba-ssf-request@groups.electricembers.net

How do I reply to a post on the listserv?

  • When replying to an email sent through the listserv, either use "Reply" to simply reply to the individual person sending the message or use "Reply All" to email every person on the listserv. Please use the "Reply All" function carefully as your response will be sent to the entire listserv

How do I limit how many emails I receive a day from the listserv?

  • There are two ways to receive emails on the listserv: Standard and Digest.
    • Standard means that you receive the individual mail messages as they are sent. You will receive a lot of email but you will not miss out on any time-sensitive events or opportunities.
    • Digest means instead of receiving individual mail messages, every 55 minutes the emails are batched together and sent in groups. You get less frequent emails but you might miss out on time-sensitive events or offers.
    • You may also choose a “Do Not Receive” option: Emails are not sent, but you can still log in and view list emails in the Archive area (menu item on the left). This is a great alternative if you like being part of the conversation, but on your own time.
  • To edit your preferences:
    • Once logged in: Under "Directory of Groups" select "community" then select "bba-ssf@groups.electricembers.net"
    • Click on left menu item "Subscriber Options" and then click on the "Reception Mode" drop-down menu in the middle of the page
    • Choose the option that best fits your needs:
      • Standard, Digest or Do Not Receive
    • After choosing your subscription preference, click "Update"
  • BBA Staff Tip: We recommend creating a separate folder for your BBA SSF listserv and setting up an email filter so that your email program automatically places incoming BBA SSF Listserv emails in that designated folder. .Filters are easy to set up – just consult your email program’s "Help" section and set your filter to move anything with recipient bba-ssf@groups.electricembers.net into your BBA SSF Listserv folder. Once you do this, you can go in and browse listserv emails at your leisure, rather than feeling that your inbox is inundated.

Do I always need to login to ElectricEmebers to use the listserv?

  • No. Once you have your desired preferences, the emails will come to your inbox and you may reply in the various ways explained above. You will only need to login to change your preferences or view the archives.

Why do the listserv emails keep going in my SPAM folder?

  • Please unmark the listserv email as SPAM and you will train your email to stop putting emails into the spam folder.

How do I flag an inappropriate post?

  • The BBA/F does not actively monitor the listserv postings. If you think a post violates our Guidelines please, please forward the email in question to listserv-admins bba-ssf-request@groups.electricembers.net This will alert BBA staff to take the correct course of action. How do I unsubscribe?

  • There are multiple ways to unsubscribe from the listserv.
    1. Use this link and enter your email address. This link is also found at the bottom of every email sent through our listserv.
    2. You can send a blank email to bba-ssf-unsubscribe@groups.electricembers.net from the email address you subscribed to.
    3. Log into your listserv account and click on the “Unsubscribe” option. Be sure to then click “OK” in the confirmation that pops up. Note: If you don’t remember your password, look to the top left of the web page to reset it.

Does the listserv have an archive?

  • Yes, it does! Just log in and then in the left-hand menu click on "Archive".

    • state concisely in the subject line the matter in which your email is discussing;
    • only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that benefits everyone;
    • do not use the listserv to contact BBA/F staff.
  • The BBA does not monitor e-mail messages before they are distributed. The BBA accepts no responsibility for the opinions and information posted on the listserv.
  • Never post anything on the listserv that you wouldn't share with opposing counsel
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials and/or language are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything in a listserv message that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • In the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the BBA/F’s attention (by listserv users or otherwise), the BBA/F reserves the right to take all appropriate action in response. The BBA/F reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines.
  • This listserv may be discontinued at any time.
