Since 1993, the BBA has introduced over 385 diverse young adults to the legal profession. While the principal aim of the program is to help Boston youth learn about the legal profession through on on-the-job experience, the long-term goal of the program is to increase diversity and inclusion in Boston’s legal community. To ensure a diverse student pool, the BBA’s summer jobs students are selected from Boston Public High School (BPS), whose students live in 21 different neighborhoods and speak 77 different languages, including Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Chinese.
To date, firms have committed 53 jobs to BPS students. To view the participating firms, please click here
There is still time for firms and law departments to demonstrate their commitment to increasing diversity within the legal profession. Please contact Katie D’Angelo, Public Service Programs Coordinator, at email@example.com
for more information about hiring a student. This program is funded in part by the Austin Jones Fund and the M. Ellen Carpenter Fund of the Boston Bar Foundation.
