Doug Gooding to Serve as Co-Chair of BBA Public Service Oversight Committee

The Boston Bar Association today announced that Doug Gooding ofChoate Hall & Stewart will succeed Kevin Currid (S.E.C.) as Co-Chair of the Public Service Oversight Committee, joining Albert Wallis (Brown Rudnick) in the Committee leadership. Gooding is the chair of Choate's Finance Group and has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, restructuring, bankruptcy, and related litigation.  He has been a member of the BBA's Bankruptcy Law Section since 2006, serving as Co-Chair from 2010-2012. He also co-chaired the Bankruptcy Public Service Committee from 2008-2010 and is a member of the Boston Bar Foundation Society of Fellows.

The Public Service Oversight Committee gives formal recommendations to the Executive Committee and BBA Council concerning proposed and existing public service projects at the BBA. It also reports on the status of the various public service projects and activities. As the BBA's public service initiatives continue to expand, the Committee focuses on their continued improvement.

Some recent projects have included creating two checklists designed to assist both small businesses and individuals affected by the Boston Marathon bombing, overseeing the development of modules for the Public Interest Leadership Program, and reviewing the recent curriculum for Law Day in the Schools.
