Welcome to the Criminal Law Section of the BBA.
Kick-off Event – We hope you can join us for our first event of the year on September 15, 2011, from 4:00-6:00 PM, at which the Honorable Nancy Gertner, Harvard Law Professor and retired U.S. District Judge, will share her reflections on twenty years on the federal bench. She has indicated that she wants to be asked tough questions. To do that, we have three prominent practitioners who will lead the Q&A. A reception will follow. We think this will be a great kick-off event.
Fall Programs – The rest of the fall programs should be equally informative and interesting. On September 27th we will host the 11th Annual Criminal Law Bench/Bar Conference where you will hear from federal and state judges who will give you their perspectives on the hottest topics in their courtrooms. A reception will follow.
Other Fall Programs – The rest of the fall line-up includes:
- Public Corruption program, focused on the DiMasi prosecution
- Foreign Corrupt Practices Act program
- Program on Responding to Search Warrants and Subpoenas
- Program of e-discovery
Membership – Our members range from brand new practitioners to seasoned veterans. No matter which side of the bar you practice on, you will find a wide variety of cutting edge events and educational opportunities here.
Steering Committee – Our Steering Committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. The Criminal Law Public Policy Subcommittee also has regular meetings. If you would like to get involved in the section, please contact Jonathan Kotlier (email@example.com) or Georgia Critsley (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We look forward to seeing you at an event!
