BBA Lawyer Referral Service Unveils New Military & Veterans Webpage

Thursday, April 05, 2012

The BBA Lawyer Referral Service recently launched a new page on its website that explains the services that it offers to military members, veterans, and their families. To assist this population with their legal needs, the BBA Lawyer Referral Service has created special panels of attorneys in Bankruptcy Law, Employment Law, Family Law, and Trusts & Estates. Attorneys on these panels have certified that they meet certain experience requirements and have completed specialized training to understand the needs and legal issues facing service members, veterans, and their families.

In addition, the Boston Bar Association has partnered with the Legal Advocacy & Resource Center (LARC), Shelter Legal Services, and the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP), to establish a Military Legal Help Line. Callers from this dedicated intake line who are over-income for free legal services are referred to the BBA Lawyer Referral Service. For more information on this partnership, please refer to our brochure.

If you are interested in joining one or more of these panels, or in joining the BBA Lawyer Referral Service, please contact Szeman Lam at slam@bostonbar.org.
