MBLA Hosts Annual Gala

On March 28, the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association (MBLA) hosted its annual gala at the Westin Copley Place. The gala featured keynote speaker Theodore V. Wells Jr., widely regarded as one of the best trial lawyers in the country. The MBLA honored Justice O. Rogeriee Thompson, the first African-American and the second woman to serve on the First Circuit Court of Appeals, with its Trailblazer Award. The MBLA also honored Professor Derrick Bell (posthumously) with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his unparalleled career as a civil rights attorney, legal scholar, professor and political activist.
