Eleven Sponsors Show Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion, Pledge $29,000 for Beacon Award

The 4th Annual BBA Beacon Award may still be more than two months away, but eleven Massachusetts firms and businesses have already helped the BBA raise $29,000 to support a more diverse and inclusive legal profession in Boston. This year, the 2013 Beacon Award will be presented to Paul Lee, a Corporate and Securities Partner at Goodwin Procter, for his over 30 years of leadership in the Asian-American Community of Boston. Lee is the founding President of the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) and his work has helped boost the supply of affordable housing in Boston’s Chinatown.

The Beacon Award for Diversity & Inclusion was established in 2010 to recognize organizations and individuals who have had an exceptional impact in advancing diversity and inclusion in the areas of legal scholarship, recruitment and retention practices, pro bono representation community services and legal advocacy.
