Public Interest Leader Delivers Lesson on Family Law Issues

BBA Public Interest Leader Raquel Webster (National Grid USA) delivered an informative lesson to 24 probationers on the rights and main legal issues relating to family law, including paternity, child custody, visitation, and child support. Assisted by family law specialist Brian McLaughlin, the duo was able address the multitude of questions that the probationers brought to the table.

Here’s what Raquel had to say about the session:

“I had an amazing experience presenting the family law workshop materials. The program participants were extremely engaged and even took the time to express how much they appreciated the workshop. One participant noted, 'this was very insightful. I thought I knew some of this stuff based on my experiences but I guess I didn’t.' This statement meant a lot to me and I am very proud to have participated in the Community Reentry Readiness Program with others from my PILP class.”

The final session in the pilot series will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd and will cover the topic of Employment.
