Boston Bar to Host Program on JP Drug Lab Crisis

As the Jamaica Plain Drug Lab Crisis makes headlines across the nation, the Boston Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section will host a discussion on the implications for the legal community on Tuesday November 27 at 4 pm.

The distinguished panelists include:

  • Major James M. Connolly, (Deputy Division Commander for Forensic Services, State Police Crime Lab)
  • Anne Goldbach, (Forensic Services Director, Committee for Public Council Services)
  • David Meier, (Todd and Weld, Appointed by Gov. Patrick to oversee central office investigating drug lab crisis)
  • Christina Miller (Chief, District Courts and Community Prosecutions, Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office)
  • Paul Treseler (Chief, Narcotics Case Integrity Unit, Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office)
  • Nancy Wong Brooks (Forensic Chemistry Section Manager, State Police Drug Laboratory)

The impact of this crisis on all branches of government at state and federal level is immense. Speakers will discuss how we got to where we are, what the major players are doing to address the issues, and cases currently being litigated. Panelists will also consider options for future handling of forensic testing and systems in Massachusetts and processing of criminal cases involving forensic evidence.
