Welcome (or welcome back) to the BBA’s New Lawyers Section!
The New Lawyers Section is comprised of law students and attorneys in their first decade of practice. It is an “open” section, meaning all are welcome to join and attend our steering committee meetings and participate in our programs and events. Our basic mission is to introduce new lawyers to the BBA and to create opportunities for new lawyers to develop and grow in all facets of the profession. We plan regular networking, social, pro bono, and educational events for our members and host a variety of programs.
There are four ways to become involved in the New Lawyers Section: (1) by serving on one or more of our seven committees; (2) by serving as a liaison between the New Lawyers Section and another BBA section; (3) by attending monthly steering committee meetings; and (4) by attending social events.
Choose to participate in one or more of the New Lawyers Section’s committees: Entrepreneurial Development Committee, Law School Outreach Committee, Practical Skills Committee, Pro Bono Committee, Public Policy Committee, Social Events Committee, and Web & Social Media Marketing Committee. For more information on any of these committees, please contact the appropriate committee co-chairs.
- Our first monthly Steering Committee Meeting of the 2012-2013 BBA year is on Wednesday, September 5th at 8:30 am at the BBA. Our monthly steering committee meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 8:30 am at the BBA (we begin with a brief networking breakfast at 8:15 am and the meetings start at 8:30 am).
We look forward to connecting (or re-connecting) with you at a meeting or an event soon! Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
