Volunteer with The Greater Boston Food Bank

The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. Last year, GBFB distributed almost 41 million pounds of food, enough to provide healthy meals to as many as 545,000 people. GBFB is committed to increasing our food distribution in 2013 to provide at least ONE MEAL A DAY to every person in need in eastern Massachusetts. Volunteers play a critical role in ending hunger by giving their time and talent to support The Greater Boston Food Bank. Most volunteers work in the GBFB warehouse, inspecting, sorting, and packing food and grocery products. Most tasks require the ability to stand and inspect products for 2 - 3 hours. Volunteers are trained in food safety at the beginning of the shift. Come join members of the New Lawyers Section as we partner with other volunteers to help “End Hunger Here.” This event will be an excellent opportunity to enjoy the company of fellow lawyers in a non-professional setting. The Suffolk County Registry of Deeds is responsible for recording all documents relative to real estate, including deed, mortgages, releases, and liens, in the cities and towns of Boston, Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop.
