Description:

This fast-paced annual criminal law program is designed to give the practitioner an overview of the major developments in state and federal criminal law and the impact of these cases as well as other administrative, legislative and procedural changes/issues that have impacted the practice of criminal law in these forums.

The program will commence with a briefing by Glenn Cunha, a career prosecutor who has recently been appointed Inspector General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mr. Cunha will provide an update on the goals and priorities of his new office.  David Meier will also report on new developments in the state crime laboratory matter. A networking reception will directly follow program.

In addition, a distinguished faculty of judges and practitioners from the federal and state courts, will discuss critical changes in the criminal arena in 2012 as well as anticipated issues for 2013 and beyond.

You will learn approaches to the law and criminal practice that prosecutors and defenders, alike, can take full advantage of to maximize the benefits and minimize the drawbacks of the practice in this interesting and important area of the law.
