The Attorney General's HomeCorps Program for Distressed Borrowers

Monday, November 26, 2012 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Since this year's "National Mortgage Settlement" provided $44.5 million to Massachusetts, Attorney General Martha Coakley has directed a substantial chunk of that money to HomeCorps—a comprehensive program to assist distressed homeowners and hasten the end of the long-running foreclosure crisis.  Through HomeCorps, the AGO provides direct loan modification advocacy for delinquent borrowers, but also offers legal representation and social services through non-profit partners funded by the settlement.  AGO staff on the front lines of the foreclosure crisis will describe how HomeCorps works, its results to date, and the most salient challenges to wide-scale loan modifications.
