The MassDocs Program in Review

Thursday, February 7, 2013 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

In 2006, the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, the Massachusetts Housing Partnership ("MHP"), the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation and Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency came together to develop the MassDocs program which sought to simplify and reduce the cost of closing on subsidy loans for affordable rental housing projects by utilizing a single set of loan documents with one closing attorney for all of the affordable housing lenders and minimizing the level of negotiations deal by deal by providing an even-handed set of loan documents.  Over the last year, the MassDocs loan documents have undergone review and revision to address programmatic and transactional issues related to the affordable housing loan programs and MassDocs practice.

This brown bag lunch will feature the three main architects of the MassDocs program: JoAnn McGuirk, Deputy Associate Director of the Division of Housing Development of the Department of Housing and Community Development, Judy Jacobson, Deputy Director and General Counsel of MHP and Steve Nolan of Nolan Sheehan Patten LLP.  They will discuss the current status of the MassDocs program, review the recent changes to the form loan documents and engage participants on policy and process issues surrounding the MassDocs program.
