This program is designed to help Massachusetts family law attorneys handle an appeal from start to finish.  Our panel of distinguished Justices and experienced practitioners will cover the process of filing an appeal, provide tips for brief writing and oral argument, and discuss what happens on remand.

Attendees will also learn how to avoid making common mistakes in the trial court that could negatively impact an appeal.

The course materials will contain valuable information including a checklist for filing a brief and sample family law briefs, as well as relevant current case law and Massachusetts Appeals Court rules.

The agenda will cover:

I. Procedural Rules/Deadlines
II. Interlocutory Appeals
III. Appeals from Final Judgments (including briefing and oral argument)
IV. Remand
