M. Ellen Carpenter Financial Literacy Program Training Session

Monday, January 14, 2013 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Are you looking for a new volunteer opportunity? The M. Ellen Carpenter Financial Literacy Program may be the perfect fit for you. Volunteers go into high schools and educate students about importance of making smart financial decisions. Volunteers work in pairs to teach classes on topics that include personal finance, budgeting and using credit.  Each class is designed to last approximately one hour and you can sign up for a time that works for you.

The program is a collaboration between the BBA and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.  Next year will mark the ninth year of the Program.  This year alone the Program expects to reach over 1,000 students at 13 public schools.

For more information on the program, please contact Katie D'Angelo, Public Service Programs Coordinator at kdangelo@bostonbar.org.
