Are you looking for a new volunteer opportunity? The M. Ellen Carpenter
Financial Literacy Program may be the perfect fit for you. Volunteers go into
high schools and educate students about importance of making smart financial
decisions. Volunteers work in pairs to teach classes on topics that include
personal finance, budgeting and using credit. Each class is designed to
last approximately one hour and you can sign up for a time that works for
The program is a collaboration between the BBA and the United States
Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts. Next year will mark
the ninth year of the Program. This year alone the Program expects to
reach over 1,000 students at 13 public schools.
