Adaptation, Insurance, Transit: Responding to Challenges from Extreme Weather & Climate Change

Wednesday, February 27, 2013 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Superstorm Sandy devastated NY and NJ communities, flooded subways and roads, and knocked out power for millions of businesses and residents, who then turned to insurers and government for help.  Scientists predict more extreme weather events due to climate change.

What's being done to adapt to these challenges?

Come hear experts discuss climate adaptation challenges and policies from four perspectives: science, insurance, transportation, and utilities.  Speakers from the Union of Concerned Scientists, Transportation for Massachusetts, and Ceres, and an expert on utilities, will discuss cutting edge policy and legal issues.
