On April 24th at 8:30AM the BBA is hosting a training session for volunteers
participating in this year's Law Day in the Schools. This program will
provide training for new volunteers. Have you RSVP'd yet?
Since the inception of Law Day in the Schools in 1986, every year BBA members
celebrate Law Day by volunteering to visit classrooms throughout the community
to teach elementary, middle school and high school students and lead mock trials
and interactive presentations on topics such as the First Amendment and the
Constitution. The program introduces Boston students to the law and the legal
profession. The theme of this year's Program will be "Realizing the Dream:
Equality for All."
Last year 28 volunteers reached over 500 students in the Boston
Public Schools. The Program is slated to begin May 1st, 2nd
and 3rd of this year. The commitment is no more than 6 hours
including preparation, travel and classroom time.
