Looking at the Underlying Causes and Practical Effects of Coastal Erosion: Coastal processes and the CZM StormSmart Coasts Program

Tuesday, September 17, 2013 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

The presentation will include information about how coastal landforms function to provide storm damage protection and flood control, how human alterations affect those functions and ways to balance competing interests along the coast.
The StormSmart Coasts program is designed to assist communities and people working and living on the coast by providing information, strategies, and tools to help citizens address challenges arising from erosion, flooding, storms, sea level rise, and other climate change impacts.

Environmental and real estate attorneys, as well as municipal lawyers with 'coastal clients', will benefit from this practical and timely presentation on the science and dynamics of the coastal resources that comprise much of our state, and how some of the changes we are seeing on our coasts can be understood and managed.
