Effective Use of Congressional Assistance for your Immigration Case

Tuesday, March 18, 2014 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Your client is unhappy with how a case is going and says, “let’s just call the Congressman and he’ll fix the problem.”  Congressional liaison assistance can be very effective in some situations but is not helpful in others.  Our panelists have years of experience in helping constituents with difficult immigration matters.  They will discuss when it is the right time to call a Congressperson’s or Senator’s office, and what those offices can do to assist.  They will also discuss assistance in the context of family, business, refugee/asylee and humanitarian cases.

Sponsoring Section/Committee(s):

Speakers:

  • Kate Auspitz
    • Office of Congressman Michael E. Capuano
  • Ellen Morrissey
    • Office of Senator Edward J. Markey
