Laura A. Coruzzi (Jones Day, New York), a member of the Jones Day team that twice argued the Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics case at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and at the U.S. Supreme Court, will discuss recent Supreme Court decisions under Section 101, along with what the Mayo Collaborative Services v. Prometheus Laboratories, Inc. and Myriad patent-eligibility standards mean for the future of patent law in the field of personalized medicine.  A historical perspective on how and why the current criteria for patent eligibility evolved and the potential for legislative change will be provided.
