CLE - An Insider’s View of False Advertising Disputes – from the FTC, NAD, and In-house Counsel

With the holiday shopping season upon us, advertisers' efforts to reach and attract consumers are as competitive as ever. Promises of "lowest prices," "guaranteed satisfaction," and "superior performance" inundate consumers -- whether in print, on television, or in the growing realm of digital advertising. 

But consumers aren’t the only ones taking notice.  In fact, it is likely that those paying the closest attention to advertising claims aren’t consumers at all, but rather those with an interest in keeping advertisers honest:  government regulators, competitors, and plaintiffs’ attorneys. Public and private enforcement of false advertising laws show no signs of slowing down, and the legal and public relations implications of an investigation or lawsuit can have a significant impact on a business or even an industry.

On December 18th at 16 Beacon Street, join us for an insider's view of false advertising disputes. With presenters from the Federal Trade Commission, the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau, and in-house legal departments, this CLE program will orient participants to the current enforcement landscape of false advertising laws and highlight both public and private enforcement trends.
