CLE - Representing Clients in the Mediation of Business Disputes: Strategies for Success

Monday, January 27, 2014 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

The BBA is pleased to offer this program at a discount due to the valuable practical skill building and refinement offered by this program.

See below for our special pricing details!

Mediation continues to gain popularity as the preferred alternative dispute resolution platform.  The flexibility of the process is one of its greatest strengths - but this flexibility can also be the source of confusion and set-backs.  Increasing awareness of the nuances and opportunities of the mediation process can help counsel to better serve the client.

This program will focus on practical skill development and refinement.  Faculty will break down the mediation process into its critical phases and engage participants in analysis of the strategic decision-making points to bear in mind within each phase.

Join us for this intensive afternoon session to:

 ·         Explore the details of the pre-mediation communication and activities that set the stage for a more productive mediation.

 ·         Develop a strong process checklist.

 ·         Enhance your understanding of the goals and stages of caucusing.

 ·         Discern between negotiating with the other side and negotiating with the mediator.

 ·         Discuss best practices for managing settlements and impasses.
